WOn a cold winter night in December I received the call. Phil Schmidt of Goose Busters Guide Service was on the line and said he had room for one more, for a late season Canada goose hunt near Hutchinson, Mn later that week. I eagerly accepted Phil’s invitation as I had been looking forward to trying out Phil’s premier Canada goose hunting guide service since he signed on with the HuntTheNorth.com organization late last summer. Being an avid goose hunter I was also excited to try the Hutchinson area as I had always heard good things about it but never had a chance hunt there.
For the month of February we will be reviewing the services of Goose Busters Guide Service. Based out of the Twin City metro area, Goose Busters Guide Service offers Premier Guided Canada Goose and Duck Hunts around the western suburbs of Minneapolis, Mn. Outfitter and head guide Phil Schmidt works very hard to ensure that all hunters experience the best waterfowl hunting that Minnesota has to offer. Phil excels in offering exceptional guided field Canada goose hunts as well as traditional Minnesota duck hunts.
About The Outfitter
Owner and head guide of Goose Busters Guide Service, Phil Schmidt has 15 years, in 4 states of “hard hunting” experience. He specializes in decoying waterfowl close, to give you the best hunting opportunities. Phil uses several dozen custom painted full body and motion decoys for unmatched realism. He uses the best laydown blinds. The prostaff including experienced guide Jeff Zierden, are all expert goose and duck callers. Guiding waterfowl hunts is what Phil loves to do. If you book a hunt with Phil and the Goose Busters Pro Staff be assured they will work hard for you.
Hunting Accommodations
Although your lodging fees are not included in the price of the daily hunt, outfitter Phil Schmidt has lived in the area all of his life and can make a strong recommendation on which local motels can accommodate most any need as requested.
Custom Hunts Available
Guided Canada Goose Hunts
Goose Busters is not your typical guide service. We do not take 10 or 20 guys per hunt. We specialize in decoying Canada geese for no more than three hunters per field hunt. For the most relaxed and personalized hunt possible. You will recieve one on one tips on calling, decoy placement, and concealment.
These hunts will take place in the west metro area of Minnesota. The 2005 hunting season was a major success. Goose Busters harvested 403 Geese, 7 of which were banded, and 108 Ducks, for a total of 511 birds from 58 hunts. Please join us at Goose Busters for the 2006 season, and enjoy field Canada goose hunting at its finest!
Guided Duck Hunts
At Goose Busters our guided duck hunts are just as personable as our goose hunts. We specialize in decoying ducks for no more than two hunters per water hunt and three per field hunt. For the most relaxed and personalized hunt possible. You will recieve one on one tips on calling ducks, decoy placement, and concealment. These hunts will take place in the west metro area of Minnesota. The 2005 hunting season was a major success. Goose Busters harvested 108 Ducks and 403 Geese, 7 of which were banded, for a total of 511 birds from 58 hunts. $125.00 per person early and regular season
