About The Taxidermist

Professional Fish Taxidermist Tyler Erickson, grew up near Fox Lake, Minnesota. As a young boy, he was introduced to the outdoors by his father and fell in love with God’s creation. Tyler landed his first trophy walleye when he was four and still remember trying to reel him in. From there the rest is history. Tyler feels he owes everything he is to Jesus Christ, his personal Savior and friend. He tries to reflect that in his daily life and work.

Tyler started Top Notch Taxidermy, which is a high end fish taxidermy studio specializing in fish mounts and reproductions along with gameheads and birds. Tyler spends a large amount of time on each fish, hand painting (scale tipping) the scales, and paying close attention to the anatomical features that make your fish come alive. From the eyes to the fins, nothing is overlooked. Tyler is driven by the desire to produce the most realistic and artistic taxidermy available. He has attended and won many competitions and seminars in his pursuit to improve. Tyler has won many awards at the state level and will provide you with a wonderful piece of wildlife art.
