Functionality 5 / 5

We found the functionality of the Twisted Timber Tree Stand to more than adequate for setting up even in the most difficult locations. The stand sets up easily and will self-level on trees that are at severe angles allowing the hunter to set up almost anywhere on any tree. The stand comes with a complete full body climber’s harness and a Fall Arrest System (FAS). The instructional video included and approved by the National Bowhunter Education Foundation is well done and very informative.

Durability 5 / 5

The platform, seat and all hardware associated with the Twisted Timber Tree Stands are top notch powder coated steel and built to last. The straps, hooks and harnesses are very solid and the cabling with the stand appears to be well beyond what is required. The stand has a 300lb rating and could easily hold more. Welds are very well done. This is a very solid stand that will last many years.

Effectiveness 5 / 5

The Twisted timber Treestand can go in places where most other treestands are impossible to set up. This allows the hunter tremendous versatility in stand selection sites and offers an overall advantage to the hunter. We saw first hand how convenient it is to be able to no longer be restricted to where you can hunt due to no straight trees in your prime location. It is a proven fact that you have to hunt where the deer are, and not where you want or think they should be. Now you have an incredible opportunity with Twisted Timber Treestands to get the advantage you need!

Variety 4 / 5

The Twisted Timber Treestand is available in two models; the Big Bruiser (tested) and the Trail Cruiser. The Big Bruiser we found to be fairly light weight at 16.55 lbs. and easy to manage while navigating through the woods. For those who are trekking deep into the outdoors, the Trail Cruiser shaves off 2.6 lbs. and sacrifices only 240 square inches of platform space.

Price 5 / 5

At a retail price on $199 for either model we found the Twisted Timber Treestands to be competitively priced or moderately higher than similar models from other manufacturers. However, we felt that the versatility and unique design outweighs any price discrepancy. These stands can go almost anywhere.

Overall Product Satisfaction 5 / 5

Pro staff at Hunt The North were all impressed with The Twisted Timber Treestand. Overall functionality was excellent and durability was impressive. From a durability perspective there was no skimping with all grade 8 hardware and superb overall craftsmanship. Even though it is offered in only two designs we could not think of another design that could outperform the selection that is available. The stands are competitively priced and the slogan “Go where you want to go with Twisted Timber” holds true.

Twisted Timber Treestands Field Testing
By Rick Janes

The Twisted Timber Treestand was field tested in Northeastern Colorado during the second archery season in mid-November.

Hunting a completely new area, I was pleased to find that the terrain was going to be perfect for the Twisted Timber Treestand. The area around Yuma, Colorado is mostly agricultural with many ravines and areas not suitibale for culitvation. Within these areas the trees are definitely twisted. Many cottonwoods are mixed in with low growth dogwoods and a variety of aspen/poplar.

After locating a perfect location with a major intersection of trails and abundant rubs and scrapes I was happy to have the Twisted Timber Treestand. No other stand would have worked and I would have had to settle for a ground blind which I didn’t want to risk with the thermal wind currents and the proximity to a primary scrape and a bedding area.

The stand was easily erected into a small cottonwood on a severe slope that perfectly overlooked the trail intersection I wanted. With six screw- in tree-steps I was able to reach the perfect “Y” on the tree, 15 feet off the ground and 12 yards off the trail. With the flexibility of the stand I was able to position myself with the seat offset enough to allow for good draw positions from either direction and actually curve around the tree for a shot to the left and a nice straight shot to the right.

Although an animal was not harvested on this trip, the stand was perfect and I was able to watch a nice heavy antlered whitetail buck chase a hot doe at full run, right underneath the Twisted Timber and at least half a mile across a picked cornfield!
