Functionality 4 / 5

Overall we felt the Motion Decoy Stand design is very well made and easy to use. We really liked the fact that it had locking pins to connect any motorized decoy, so there is no way it can fall out of the pole if for any reason the stand was ever to tip over or for travel purposes. It is also very easy to adjust the pole to the existing water depth. The sturdy baseplate also ensures that no matter what the bottom type is, the stand will not fall over. The only downside we found was that the overall pole is a little cumbersome to travel with in tight quarters. We rated the functionality of the pole a 4 / 5

Durability 5 / 5

The Durability of the Motion Decoy Stand is very strong and virtually indestructible. The overall construction is very well made- Made of a durable, powder-coated steel tubing, the stand is lightweight and resists corrosion. It is very easy to use in the marsh. It sets up quickly and should last for many, many years of use. 5 / 5!

Effectiveness 5 / 5

We felt the overall effectiveness of the new Torg Inc Motion Decoy Stand was excellent. The product works exactly like it says it will- It works well in up to 10 ft of water, it works with most every motion decoy on the market and it does not blow over. Accomplishing those three benefits ensures a 5 / 5 rating score!

Variety 5 / 5

Due to the nature of the product, there really isn’t much room for variety. We will default to the fact that it is universal, working well with any type of Motion Decoy on the market and that it works well in any depth of water up to 10 ft and score the variety of the product as a 5 / 5!

Price 4 / 5

The price point of the product is $79.99 plus shipping and handling. However they do offer a discount for multiple product sales. We feel that the only downside is the product is only available on the Internet at torginc.com and thus the customer must incur an additional shipping and handling charge. We feel the overall price point reflects a 4 / 5 score.

Overall Product Satisfaction 5 / 5

Overall we were completely satisfied with the effectiveness of the new Torgue Inc Decoy Motion Stand. We would highly recommend this product for any serious waterfowl hunter attempting to use a motion decoy in deeper water situations or looking for more visibility in a field hunting situation. 5 / 5!

Product Review On Torg Inc’s Telescoping Poles For Motion Decoys
By Dan Wennerlind

One of the great things about our country is that the next best invention is only an idea away. As die hard waterfowlers we all have had a great idea sitting in the duck blind on the “tough days” to turn around a slow day of hunting.

The guys at Torg Inc did just that. Have you ever been excited to throw out a couple robo ducks, as we like to call them, in the spread only to find out that the water is too deep for the 3 ft poles that come from the manufacturer. I know I have.

New for the 2015 waterfowl hunting season, Torg Inc came out with their new line of Telescoping Poles for motion decoys. We actually had a chance to field test the product and were very impressed.

On the lake we hunt, the water depth drops off quick and after about 10 feet off shore the lakes run 6 – 10 feet across the entire basin. This factor has limited the use of motion decoys on our lake for years. After seeing the new Telescoping Decoy Poles first hand at a recent trade show, the light went on. This could be a total game changer for us, as we would be the only ones on our lake with the ability to use spinning wing motion decoys. I’m sure we are not the only ones running into this exact situation.

However this was a great idea in theory, but what happens in the field isn’t always what is thought to be on paper. We had to get these things in the water to truly test the functionality and productivity of the poles.

The first thing I really liked about the pole design was that they are universal for any type of spinning wing decoy and they have the locking pin to assure, worse case, you don’t lose your expensive decoy if the wind were to blow over the pole or the bottom was too mucky to hold. So thus we felt comfortable setting up 3 of the spinning wing decoys on our trial run, knowing that if we were to lose one in the 6 – 8 ft waters it was surely never to be seen again.

Upon set up on the lake, the second aspect of the poles we really liked was the ease of setting the depth. As the title states they are telescoping poles, reaching up to 10 feet in depth. It literally took less than 20 seconds to set the proper depth for the lake we were hunting.

And finally the true test, how well would the pole hold to the bottom of the lake. On our particular lake, most of the bottom is rock hard sand and gravel, but there is an area on the east bay, that is completely mud and muck. After several uses of the poles we found that with the flat bracket design at the bottom of the pole there was actually no way for the pole to tip over. This was the real test as we hunted several days where the winds were light and variable to start the hunt but picked up throughout the day reaching 15 – 18 mph. The poles and decoys held up great. By the end of the 2015 waterfowl hunting season we were more than satisfied with the new Torgue Inc Motion Decoy Poles for any lake or marsh reaching depths up to 10 feet deep. We were able to pull in many flocks of ducks from the skies above that would never have given us a second look. The next plan is to try the variable heights of the telescoping poles on wary late season Mallards in the grain fields. Until then….
